Shafaq News/ The head of the State Administration Coalition, Ammar al-Hakim, called on Saturday to “replicate” the experience of the State Administration Coalition in forming local governments in the governorates, warning at the same time of what he called a financial and economic “tsunami” threatening Iraq due to the presence of nearly a million unemployed people.
This came in a speech he delivered at the opening of the official memorial ceremony on the occasion of “Iraqi Martyr’s Day,” the anniversary of the assassination of Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim.
Al-Hakim said in his speech, “The State Administration Coalition was able to form the Sudanese government in difficult circumstances and serious challenges, and through its unity and agreement, it was able to make the government’s endeavor to achieve great achievements in terms of success.” Political stability and advancing construction and development in the country, and this is what makes us adhere to these mechanisms. Unity to complete the path and transfer the experience to the governorate councils and their local governments. Successful experiences must be generalized, repeated and developed.”
He called for "replicating the experience of the State Administration Coalition in forming the federal government and activating it in forming the local government with mechanisms that are consistent with the nature of those governorates, such as political stability, development management, and developing the economic structure," saying that "it cannot be isolated or limited to the center without all the Iraqi governorates and cities in The federal government and local governments are like one body, and when a part of them is exposed to damage or negligence, this will inevitably affect the other parts.”
Al-Hakim noted that “the presence of more than a million young people annually searching for a job opportunity in a country where population growth is growing year after year is a great challenge if we do not treat it as a serious opportunity by investing this human capital in the right direction and field.”
He continued by saying, "If we do not begin that comprehensive economic process capable of creating job opportunities and absorbing the capabilities of our youth, we will be facing a financial and economic tsunami that threatens all Iraqis."
