Iran renews its respect for Iraq's sovereignty

The Iranian Foreign Ministry defended the missile attacks that targeted Erbil Governorate.
Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said: Iran is one of the biggest defenders of Iraq's national sovereignty, noting that the missile attack against a target in the Kurdistan region of Iraq came "after threats directed against Iranian citizens." Kanaani explained that Iran cannot ignore its national security, which is considered a red line, stressing his country’s commitment to Iraq’s national and regional sovereignty. He added, “We always insist on providing security for the Iraqi government and people, and on coordination and cooperation with the army of this country.” He called for full implementation of the security agreement between the two countries to ensure national security in Iran and Iraq.
