US ambassador: Iran must respect Iraqi sovereignty

    Baghdad
US Ambassador Matthew Toler on Sunday expressed his country's unwillingness to escalate tensions with Tehran, calling for "respect for Iraqi sovereignty".
"The American president and the foreign minister have confirmed that they are looking for a political solution with Iran," Toller told a press conference attended by the correspondent of "Kalkamesh Press". "Even after Iran dropped the American plane, the US president did not respond to it, "He said.
He explained that "we have channels of communication with Iran can be used to communicate and can not open new channels of communication."
As for the Iraqi-Iranian issue, Toller demanded "Tehran respect the Iraqi masters," pointing out that the United States "focused on building a strong and stable Iraq."
