[rtl]Basra / NINA / The Director General of the General Company for Ports of Iraq, Engineer Farhan Al-Fartusi, discussed today, Sunday, with a delegation from the Parliamentary Economy, Industry and Trade Committee, the experience of joint operation in the company, and the role it played in increasing revenues.
The Director General said, according to a statement, “Today we received a delegation from the Parliamentary Economy, Industry and Trade Committee headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Representative Yasser Al-Husseini, where they were informed of the volume of revenues from the year (2020 to 2023), as well as the experience of joint operation in the company, and what it had. Role in increasing revenues.
He added, "The delegation also reviewed the volume of work in the southern and northern ports of Umm Qasr, the company's program for restoring infrastructure, and electronic transformation operations," noting that "the delegation also listened to a detailed explanation about the Grand Faw Port projects and the latest completion rates achieved in it."
Economists point out that the revenues of the General Company for Ports of Iraq will increase once the large Al-Faw port is operational, which will represent an important part of the state’s general revenues. If the port operates at full capacity in the target year of 2038, those revenues are estimated at more than (2) trillion dinars./ End[/rtl]
