Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Labor and Civil Society Organizations Committee confirmed, on Monday, the completion of reading of the Trade Union Organization Law by the committee and submitting it to the Presidency of the House of Representatives, stressing that the Trade Unions and Federations Law will be proceeded with next week.
The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Hussein Arab, said, during a press conference held in the Parliament building with the participation of the Committee members and attended by a Shafaq News Agency correspondent, that “The Labor and Parliamentary Affairs Committee met regarding the trade union organization law after the directives of the Presidency of the House of Representatives, to submit the law proposals to the Presidency and proceed with the first reading inside the House of Representatives.” ".
Arab continued, "Today, the Labor and Civil Society Committees read the trade union organization law and it was submitted to the Presidency of the House of Representatives. The committee will proceed with the federations and trade unions law next week," indicating that "this law is important with regard to trade union organization and the work of federations and trade unions."
Arab pointed out that "this law sets ceilings, limits and powers of trade unions in accordance with the agreements signed between Iraq and international organizations," indicating that "the Labor Committee promised to be the first to propose legislation for the trade union organization law."
Arab explained by saying: “Today the law has been completed, and it will be submitted for the first reading soon, and during the next week we will proceed with the proposal of legislating the federations and unions law so that this law will be a real framework for the work of unions and federations in Iraq.”
