    Information/Baghdad...
The head of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, directed, today, Friday, to prevent the entry of any person who is not authorized to be present or to practice commercial work inside the border crossing, and to take legal measures against violators.
A statement by the Authority, received by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, said, “The field visits conducted by the Chairman of the Border Ports Authority, Omar Adnan Al-Waeli, to the ports of Basra Governorate, continue. After his visit yesterday to the Safwan port, he headed towards the sea ports to observe in the field the flow of work there.”
The statement added, “Al-Waeli, upon his arrival, held an important meeting with the managers of the port ports of Umm Qasr (northern and central), during which he stressed the necessity of working in a team spirit, exchanging information, integrating and cooperating with all departments to ensure that commercial work runs smoothly and with high professionalism, and following up on the file of withdrawing the accumulated containers.” Preventing forgery and distortion of official documents.
He pointed out that "the welcome yard was visited unexpectedly and a group of containers were opened to verify the integrity of the procedures and review the electronic verification of documents and the process of analyzing images of incoming goods to prevent tampering and smuggling of any materials not mentioned in the official papers."
The head of the authority stressed, “The official in charge of the international scene and code must prevent the entry of any person who is not authorized to be present or practice commercial work inside the border crossing and take legal measures against violators.”
The statement continued, "Al-Waeli reviewed the procedures of the Umm Qasr Middle Port port to seize (66) wheels due to the doubt regarding the model of manufacture, and a judicial decision was obtained to form a specialized technical committee from the Traffic Directorate in Basra Governorate to determine the model because the manipulation was highly professional."
The statement concluded, "The Chairman of the Authority directed all employees to make their utmost and sincere efforts to serve the country and raise the level of work for the better and in accordance with the government's vision and the specific approach to controlling border crossings." “Working for the better and in line with the government’s vision and the specific approach to controlling border crossings.”
