Integrity Committee member Duraid Jameel said in a statement, “Financial transgressions in the Ministry of Construction and Housing and suspicions of corruption are looming on the horizon and clearly visible as the party that owns the ministry benefits from large economic offices in Baghdad and investments related to the ministry’s powers.”

He added, "As we monitor this, we are continuing to interrogate Mr. Benkin Rekani, Minister of Construction and Housing, regarding various suspicions of corruption, including issues of selling green lands and many other files."

Hamil stressed, “While we emphasize the protection of the rights of our citizens and our people, at the same time we affirm that any legal person or party will not be above Sharia and the law,” adding, “We are certain that the benefit of these parties from the Iraqi people’s money will be held accountable for it. The law and the judiciary will be the decisive factor, and revealing the truth and transparency is our work.” ".

He continued, "We will never compromise on the livelihood of our people, which is stolen from many officials who take refuge behind the mechanisms of their parties, and we will not tire until justice is achieved and the abusers are brought to justice."
