    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced, on Sunday, the recovery of 225 billion dinars from violators of the aid network within a year, and while it indicated the suspension of more than 25 thousand registrations during the current month and the recovery of money from violators, it confirmed that the Minister of Labor Ahmed Al-Asadi directed that it be allocated to the category of orphans.
The Director General of the Social Protection Department in the Ministry, Abdul Rahman Al-Mansouri, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and seen by Al-Iqtisad News, that “the year 2023 witnessed the recovery of more than 225 billion dinars from violators who were not entitled to salaries, and their number reached more than 220,000 violators.” .
He added, "80 billion dinars were recovered in cash, and the remaining amount for the violators was obligated to pay it in the form of installments," noting that "the process of detecting the violators continues by conducting intersection operations with all ministries and state institutions, and the process is carried out by interrupting the data that we receive from the Office of Monitoring with our database, and the violators may be those who have contracts, ongoing daily work, or employees, and their subsidy is stopped immediately and his department is informed. The department deducts the amounts he received as subsidy from his salary, and if he wants to pay in cash, we get the amount directly.”
He stated that "the process of inclusion in social protection assistance takes place according to data sent to the Ministry of Planning, and the Ministry is the one that determines who is below the poverty line or above the poverty line."
Regarding vehicle owners and how the subsidy is stopped from them, Al-Mansouri explained, “We send the names of those registered with us and send them to the General Traffic Directorate. We receive data on everyone who owns a car, and if it is new, the subsidy for it is stopped immediately and he is considered a transgressor.”
He pointed out, "Months ago, we found people receiving the subsidy salary. One of them owned a Mercedes G-Class car. The subsidy was stopped and he was told to pay the amounts he received. There are legal divisions in all social protection departments that follow up on violators."
He stated, "This month we stopped more than 25,000 registrations, and the money was recovered to the Social Protection Fund."
Regarding the search operations, Al-Mansouri stated that “there are numbers with whom the search process has not been completed in Baghdad, Basra, and Nineveh,” pointing out that “field survey operations are continuing to complete all the advanced entries, as a period of one month has been given to complete them.”

Regarding the orphan file, he explained that “an electronic link was opened in 2023 allocated to the category of widows, divorcees and orphans,” noting that “there are more than 45 thousand orphans registered in this base, as the Minister of Labor directed that the recovered funds be allocated to the category of orphans as they are the most vulnerable and the most vulnerable.” Poorer.
He stated that "all the inclusion operations that we have conducted and will conduct in the future depend on the financial allocations that will be added in the 2024 budget, in addition to the funds that we obtain by recovering them from transgressors."
