Member of the Parliamentary Security Committee, MP Waad Al-Qaddo, confirmed today, Tuesday, that three files have been presented to the table hosting the Army Aviation Commander next week.
Al-Qaddu said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “Army aviation is an important pillar in strengthening the capabilities of military formations. It is a strong arm in monitoring, responding and confronting, and provides fire cover for ground forces in all complex duties. It has had an effective role in liberation operations and tracking down terrorists.”
He added, "The Parliamentary Security Committee has set next week as a date to host the Army Aviation Commander to explain the issue of disabled and parked aircraft, the extent of modernization mechanisms, and to discuss the challenges and ways to strengthen this force according to the capabilities of the Iraqi state."
He pointed out that "the Parliamentary Security Committee supports strengthening the capabilities of the army, including aviation, in a way that leads to the performance of its duties to complete the picture of supporting security, stability, and protecting borders."
It is noteworthy that Iraq has carried out in recent years a series of modernization operations for its forces despite America’s obstruction of the development of some types, including air defense. Ended 25 February
