The infrastructure of “New Sadr City” is awaiting implementation

The Baghdad Municipality announced the imminent referral of infrastructure implementation work in New Sadr City within the next few weeks, noting that the project will also include the referral of more than 50 shops for cladding and development in various regions of the capital.
The Mayor of the Capital, Ammar Moussa, told Al-Sabah that “the secretariat will carry out highway development work during this year, in addition to continuing the issue of street paving and development work,” noting that “there are more than 50 localities that will be referred for implementation within the project.”
Moussa added, “The secretariat is working to develop some of the main streets, and work is continuing according to the specified plans,” indicating that “the (New Sadr City) project is in the stage of referral to the executive infrastructure companies, after referring the work of implementing the city’s infrastructure within less than a month, under supervision and design.” Specialized international consulting offices have been contracted.”
He explained that “invitations were sent to five specialized companies to implement the project as quickly as possible, as New Sadr City is one of the cities included in the government program to solve the housing problem in Baghdad with the new cities for which the foundation stone was laid,” pointing out that “these calls include implementing Infrastructure for 11,000 housing units out of 60,000 with the city’s basic infrastructure.”
He continued by saying: “The New Sadr City project and the rest of the cities are being followed up by the Prime Minister,” noting that “the infrastructure includes integrated services such as water, sewage, roads, electricity, and others. It is also close to the Fourth Ring Road and will be connected to the neighboring regions through major axes, and it will cost a A solid consultant supervising the implementation of all work.”
