    Erdogan and Sudanese discussions
Member of the Parliamentary Relations Committee, MP Amer Al-Fayez, confirms that 4 files will dominate the discussions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baghdad.
Al-Fayez said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The anticipated visit of the Turkish President to Baghdad will bring with it a discussion of outstanding issues between the two countries, most notably water and absolute quantities, as well as the presence of Turkish forces deep in Iraqi territory and their stability in bases and stations, and the file of the Kurdistan Workers' Party." He added, "Not to mention the economic issue and ways to develop relations, especially since Turkey sees it as an important issue and a priority, with great opportunities for work in various sectors in Iraq."
He explained, "Ankara has sincere relations with Kurdish, Turkmen, and Sunni forces in Iraq, and it may be an attempt by Ankara to bring viewpoints closer even though it is an internal matter, but the dimensions of friendship may prompt an attempt to bring viewpoints closer between the parties."
    Turkish operations in the region
He stated that "Iraq's participation with Turkey in any operation in the Kurdistan region against the Kurdistan Workers' Party is out of the question, and Baghdad will not interact with it because the constitution prohibits that, but cooperation mechanisms can be put in place to prevent the party from exploiting its presence in some areas to launch and target Turkish territory."
He pointed out that "the possibility of concluding bilateral agreements between Baghdad and Ankara during Erdogan's increase related to security cooperation is very likely in light of the presence of several common files, most notably borders and smuggling." [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
