According to Minister Fidan, the security file constitutes one of the arms of the framework agreement between Ankara and Baghdad, and he said that efforts are continuing to secure its signature during President Erdogan’s visit.

He stressed that they are working to make this agreement a "memorandum of understanding."

On a related level, Fidan added that there is also intelligence cooperation between Ankara and Baghdad, in addition to areas of cooperation related to security and combating terrorism, whether with the central government or the northern Iraqi region.
