    The former Minister of Finance, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, revealed that there are 30 politicians who own more than a billion dollars.
    Allawi said, in an interview with Al-Sharqiya channel and followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “the source of wealth in Iraq is the state, as the basic resources go to the state and are then distributed to salaries and projects, and the other part is stolen,” indicating that Iraq does not have a private sector that can Regulation of the economy.
    He added that the private sector needs political cover in order to operate.
