    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Ministry of Finance denied, on Sunday, holding a meeting to discuss the bloated government spending, while indicating that there was no cessation of any funding for investment projects.
    The ministry stated in a statement, “Based on its commitment to clarifying the facts to public opinion, we deny the validity of the allegations promoted by some figures on social media sites, including: (The Minister of Finance’s meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank and one of the heads of the political blocs to discuss inflated government spending).”
    The Ministry, represented by Finance Minister Taif Sami, confirmed that it “is working in accordance with what was set by the government curriculum, and there is no truth to the existence of such alleged meetings,” stressing its “keenness to guarantee the financial rights of all segments of society by disbursing and securing salaries for the coming months for all state departments, and there is no Disbursement to one ministry at the expense of another ministry.”
    She pointed out that “there is no cessation of any funding for investment projects for Basra Governorate and the rest of the governorates,” noting that “the Ministry financed the first batch of the remaining allocations for investment projects belonging to each governorate, and the Observatory has allocations within the state’s general budget for the year 2023, in addition to the revenues from the border crossings for Basra Governorate.” According to the Prime Minister’s directives, during his meeting with the governors at the meeting of the Coordination Council of the Governorates.”
