Sulaymaniyah Governorate revived, while life returned to its markets during the days of Eid al-Fitr, after receiving about 50,000 tourists from various Iraqi governorates, according to what the Tourism Directorate in Sulaymaniyah announced.
Tourism expert Aram Kamal said today, Saturday (April 13, 2024), that “the entry of these numbers in conjunction with the spring and Eid season will revitalize the various sectors.”
Kamal added in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "With the advent of spring, the passage of summer, the end of school hours, the continuation of the rainy season, the moderate atmosphere and stunning scenery, Sulaymaniyah will record the entry of about half a million tourists or more during the coming period."
He explained, "The entry of these numbers during the Eid holiday has revived the movement of hotels, restaurants, the transportation sector, commercial centers, and resorts, as well as markets selling sweets and nuts, and this will reflect positively on the movement of markets in general in the city."
With the advent of spring every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors from various Iraqi governorates flock to the Kurdistan region, which reflects a great revitalization of the movement of markets and various economic and service sectors in the four governorates of the region, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk, and Halabja .
Resorts, tourist and mountain sites, as well as city and town centers, are crowded with visitors coming from all Iraqi governorates, as the regions of the region in general are characterized by their cool atmosphere and green mountainous nature in this season.
