Positive reactions regarding Sudanese's visit to Washington

The visit of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani to Washington is one of the most prominent missions carried out by his government, and it received wide political, popular and regional welcome because of its positive impact on Iraq’s diplomatic and regional situation, in addition to reaching understandings regarding the dollar and imposing sanctions on Some Iraqi banks, which resulted in recognition of Iraq's role in supporting security, political stability, and continued development in the region.
Member of Parliament Jamal Kujar told Al-Sabah: The visit touched on many issues, including arming Iraq with American weapons and cooperation in the fight against corruption, energy issues, as well as the future of the coalition forces and American investment in Iraq, among others.
For his part, political analyst Jassem Al-Gharabi believes that the visit will show that the Sudanese government is a government of services, the features of which have become clear on the ground in all governorates of Iraq, pointing out that there is openness to all American companies to invest in Iraq after ensuring the security and stability of the situation in Iraq.
He pointed out that Al-Sudani’s meeting with the US Secretary of Defense resulted in very large consultations regarding the status of US forces in Iraq and the activation of the strategic framework agreement, according to which the United States of America is responsible for protecting Iraq by air, sea and land and developing its military capabilities, expressing his belief that the achievement that the United States will achieve will soon be achieved. It is just around the corner to enter Iraq with great economic power.
On the same level, political analyst Jabbar al-Mashhadani pointed out that the visit came at an appropriate time, as the regional and international situation necessitated the Iraqi-American meeting, stressing that Sudanese’s performance during his meeting and his meeting with the American president reflected a responsible Iraqi national position.
Al-Mashhadani added, in an interview with Al-Sabah, that the round of discussions with the US Secretary of State regarding the future of relations with Iraq reflected the existence of a clear Iraqi vision for the shape of the Iraqi relationship with the United States, expressing his belief that the next stage is the stage of consolidating strategic relations between the two parties, which will strengthen Iraq's position and capabilities regionally and internationally.
In turn, the writer and political analyst, Haider Al-Barzanji, pointed out that the Sudanese moved towards purposeful diplomacy that freezes differences, builds on commonalities, and strengthens previous agreements, as this visit is in the interest of Iraq and strengthens previous agreements.
Al-Barzanji told Al-Sabah: Iraq has worked to distance itself from the circle of conflict, and this is the government’s first current goal, in addition to the goal of activating the joint agreement concluded in 2011, which included several items related to the health, agricultural, and industrial aspects, and activating understandings related to the educational aspect. Adding that the visit will resolve the issue of sanctions imposed on some Iraqi banks.
