    Information/translation..
A report by the American website Insider Monkey confirmed, on Saturday, that Iraq still maintains its position as one of the 15 largest countries in the world in terms of oil reserves, while giant American companies such as ExxonMobil, Shell, and Chevron are among the largest companies that pollute the environment, causing increased global warming and climate change.
The report, translated by the Maalouma Agency, stated that the global oil market was subject to the control of a group of Anglo-American multinational companies known as the “Seven Sisters” in the last half of the twentieth century, but oil-rich countries keen on their interests came together and established OPEC in Baghdad in the year 1960 These countries realized that they had non-renewable resources, and if they competed against each other, the price of oil would fall so much, that they would eventually run out of their precious but limited commodity sooner.”
The report explained that "OPEC currently includes 12 members, while estimates indicate that approximately 80 percent of the world's proven crude oil reserves are located in member states, which gives the organization a significant influence on the global energy scene."
The report stated that “the value of the global oil and gas market reached $6.99 trillion in 2022 and is expected to grow to $8.67 trillion by 2027, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.4 percent during the coming period. The largest region in the global oil and gas market share is "Asia-Pacific region, with North America coming in second."
He continued, "The basic factors driving industry growth include increasing demand for oil and gas, increasing competition in the industry, and global capital. Moreover, rising oil and gas exploration activities and increasing prices globally are also expected to drive industry growth."
He pointed out that "in the wake of the climate catastrophe, giant American companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Shell have emerged as the largest polluters of the environment, as the urgent need to reach net zero emissions has become more important than ever before." Ended/25 D
