    Baghdad today - Erbil
Today, Friday (May 31, 2024), member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, revealed the details and behind the scenes of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, to Baghdad.
Karim said in an interview with “Baghdad Today” that “Barzani’s visit and his meetings with political leaders discussed several aspects, the most important of which was resolving the employee salaries file and the issue of sending sums on a monthly basis without delay, including the salaries of the security services in the region, and the resettlement file.”
He added, "Through his visit, Barzani wanted to resolve the issue of voting on the budget and the region's share in it after taking pledges from leaders and party leaders, after the recent objections that emerged from a group of representatives. Therefore, these objections will not affect Kurdistan's share and will proceed without obstacles."
Yesterday, Thursday, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, arrived in Baghdad to hold discussions with Federal Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani and a number of senior officials in the federal government, in addition to meetings with leaders and leaders of political forces.
Many representatives led media and parliamentary objections against the budget tables and the claim that the Kurdistan region was given more than the entitlements of other provinces, which was denied by the Ministry of Planning and government advisors, stating that Kurdistan’s share in the tables includes the development of the regions and total investment expenditures, while the shares of the rest of the provinces include only the development of the regions. Investment allocations also exist independently across ministries and amount to 40 trillion dinars.
