    Baghdad - IQ
The Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed, on Thursday, (25 March 2021), that the share of the Kurdistan region is not the only obstacle before the House of Representatives to vote and ratify the draft federal budget law, stressing the existence of other obstacles and problems.
Committee member Shirwan Mirza said in a statement to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan website and affiliated with  IQNEWS , "We have not yet reached an agreement on the draft federal budget law for 2021," stressing that "the Kurdistan region's share in the draft budget is not the only obstacle to approving the draft law." .
He added that "there are other problems in front of the budget, namely, the differences between the political blocs on the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar and another issue related to the technical aspect about the budget for the development of the regions."
Mirza pointed out that "the problem of the region’s share of the budget would have ended if the change that occurred in the budget by some parties," explaining that "it is not known what will happen until next Saturday."
He asked, "Are these parties backing down from the changes they made to the draft budget bill? Or will the Kurdistan region accept the draft law as it is at the present time? Or will an agreement be reached between the two sides?"
