Committee member Yasser Iskandar Watut said in an interview with Al-Sumaria News, “With regard to stores that sell weapons, there are strict controls in terms of the conditions for selling weapons, such as obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Interior,” adding, “It is no secret that the spread of selling weapons illegally outside licensed stores is not hidden.”

Wattut added, "There is a directive and initiative from the Minister of the Interior to purchase medium-sized weapons from citizens as an initiative to limit the spread of unlicensed weapons," noting that "there are ongoing campaigns to confiscate unlicensed weapons, and an electronic government window has been opened to facilitate licensing of carrying weapons."
