      +A -AINA - BAGHDADPM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani held the twenty-fifth regular session of the Cabinet, highlighting the service and economic files."The session included a discussion of the general situation in the country, and research into the number of files related to the implementation of the government program, plans for development, and the progress of infrastructure projects, as well as deliberating on the topics on the agenda and taking the necessary decisions regarding them," according to the PM Media Office statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.Al-Sudani stressed “the importance of closely following up on every living or service crisis to which the citizen is exposed,” stressing that “the government program intensively targeted the electricity and energy sector, to sustain the provision of this service to the citizen," indicating that the institutions concerned, along with all state and local governments, “We are concerned with concerted efforts to overcome this crisis.”The statement indicated that “the Cabinet approved the Ministry of Electricity’s contract with (KAR Company) to supply electrical energy from the Republic of Turkey, according to the reduced price equation approved by the Ministry of Electricity, for 3 months due to the summer peak load and the need of the electrical system, and according to the finance authority."In regard to monitoring the youth and sports sector, the Cabinet also approved that the Supreme Youth Council, formed under Cabinet Resolution 23465 of 2023, assume the following tasks:1. Coordination in formulating general policies for the youth group in the Republic of Iraq with the relevant sectoral authority.2. Considering various youth issues in all fields.3. Guiding the application and implementation of government decisions related to youth.4. Submitting and following up on draft laws related to youth.5. Submitting reports on the work activity of governmental and non-governmental agencies related to their work in the youth sector, and directing the Ministry of Youth and Sports and other agencies to activate the work of the aforementioned agencies.6. Establishing and implementing various programs, projects, activities, events, etc. in the youth sector that aim to qualify, develop, and empower them in the various sectors.7. Forming the necessary committees by work requirements and the public interest to implement the various programs that enable the Council to perform its tasks.The statement also included approval of the draft law the Republic of Iraq’s accession to the amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Materials, Which was audited by the State Council and referred to the Parliament based on the provisions of the Constitution.https://ina.iq/eng/33341-the-cabinet-holds-the-25th-regular-session-decisions-included.html
