    Iranian elections began on Friday morning, with Iranians voting to choose a successor to the late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash last month.

    Iranians began casting their ballots today to elect a new president after the death of their predecessor, Interior Minister [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/entity/2607755943/%D8%A3%D8%AD%D9%85%D8%AF %D9%88%D8%AD%D9%8A%D8%AF%D9%8A/ar/]Ahmad Vahidi[/url] told state television.

    Some 61 million voters are eligible to head to the polls in 58,640 polling stations across the vast country stretching from the Caspian Sea in the north to the Persian Gulf in the south.     He said after casting his vote, “Election Day is a day of joy and happiness for us Iranians. The enthusiastic public attendance and an increase in the number of voters is a definite need.” For the Islamic Republic, adding: “We recommend that people vote and participate in this important political test. At the core of this system, the presence of the people is taken into account, and the survival of the Islamic Republic and its pride and reputation in the world depends on the presence of the people.”
