Barzani to ambassadors of 8 countries: Taking into consideration the interest of Iraq and the region in the issue of the international coalition

Shafaq News/ Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani stressed on Thursday the necessity of taking into consideration the interests of Iraq and the region regarding the issue of whether or not the US-led international coalition forces against ISIS remain in the country.
This came during his meeting in Baghdad with a joint delegation from the embassies of eight Arab countries, which included the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, the Ambassador of Egypt, the Ambassador of Bahrain, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Jordanian Embassy, the Chargé d'Affairs of the Saudi Embassy, and the Chargé d'Affairs of the UAE Embassy, according to a statement issued by Barzani's headquarters.
The statement said that during the meeting, Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani presented to the visiting delegation a brief overview of the Iraqi political situation, the reasons and motives for his visit to Baghdad, and his meetings and dialogues with the political parties, pointing to the crystallization of a positive atmosphere regarding the political situation and positions in Iraq, and the possibility of reaching good results on the basis of this newly prepared climate to address differences and end obstacles and tensions, and this in itself reflects on the stability of Iraq and the region.
In his speech, Barzani also highlighted the issue of the international coalition forces remaining in Iraq, pointing out the necessity of laying the foundations for that within the framework of national agreement and consensus and taking into consideration achieving the interests of Iraq and the region.
In another aspect of the meeting, the ambassadors of the Arab countries expressed their hope that Barzani's visit to Baghdad would be a source of goodness and stability for Iraq. They also stressed that their countries provide full support to Iraq in order to enhance security, stability and the well-being of Iraqi citizens and to address political differences in the country.
