The leader of the Coordination Framework, Jabbar Awda, confirmed on Monday that the framework forces did not impose a date for holding a session to elect the House of Representatives.
Awda told Al-Maalouma Agency, "The framework forces agree on the necessity of quickly deciding on a candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, but according to a Sunni-Sunni consensus, considering the position to be the right of the component, ruling out that the framework will impose setting a date for the decision-making session without the Sunni forces reaching common options."
He added, "The Sunni-Sunni differences cannot be overlooked, but on the other hand everyone realizes that without agreement between them we will be faced with other options, including a numerical majority, but there is an opinion awaiting the agreement of the Sunni forces."
He pointed out that "choosing a candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives without Sunni consensus will complicate the problem, and this is what the forces do not want." End 25 F
