BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's upper
house of parliament, Ali al-Zini, was slated to sit on Saturday after failing to find solutions to the problems in Basra,
A parliamentary source said in an interview with the "Mawazine News" that "Zinni set on Saturday next mid-month is a date for the election of the new speaker of the House of Representatives and his deputies."
He pointed out that "the Council failed to find solutions to the problems experienced by the province of Basra and the session was dominated by tension and mutual accusations between Prime Minister Haider Abadi and the governor of default."
