The Military Industrialization Authority announced, today, Tuesday (July 23, 2024), the start of equipping the security forces with armored vehicles and developed light weapons, indicating that the weapons have been tested for their efficiency through very harsh experiments and globally approved experiments.
The director of the investment department in the authority, Ahmed Hussam, said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "The authority has begun contracts to equip the security forces with armored vehicles and personal and light weapons, including the (M4) as well as the developed version of the (MK 47) weapon, which is the (AK 103), developed from the Kalashnikov weapon."
He added, "Production began last year, and now the armed forces are being equipped with a group of these products after they were tested through very harsh experiments and continuous firing," indicating that "these experiments are internationally approved and are not a figment of the imagination."
In a move that is the first since 2003, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani opened, two days ago, a number of military production factories and rehabilitation laboratories, including a factory for mortar shells and another for light equipment south of the capital, Baghdad. The head of the Military Industrialization Authority, Mustafa Aati, had previously confirmed that Iraq, in the coming few years, will be a difficult number in the production of military industries.
