Member of the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee, Alaa Al-Haidari, expected, on Thursday, that global oil prices would rise due to the ongoing war on Gaza.
Al-Haidari said in an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, "This increase will not affect the current year's budget, pointing out that oil markets are linked to many factors that could lead to a rise in its prices globally, especially those related to the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the tensions occurring in the Middle East region."
He added, "There is a variable that is pushing oil prices higher in the coming days, noting that global markets have witnessed significant fluctuations in oil prices after the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the war to exterminate the Palestinian people."
He explained that "the drop in the price of oil to less than $70 per barrel will not affect employees' salaries." End/25H
