    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani identified the electricity problem in Iraq today, Tuesday, during the launch of a number of energy projects in the city of Nasiriyah.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Sudani said in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News", "The expansion and modernization of the energy transmission sectors will provide flexibility in equipment, and in addition to collection and rationalization of consumption, it can add full hours of equipment for citizens."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Sudani explained, while chairing a meeting with officials at the Nasiriyah station, that “the first of these projects in the framework of electricity production is related to the combined cycle in agreement with GE, which will add 250 megawatts to the production of the gas station, and the agreement with Siemens will add 921 megawatts of energy, and includes the establishment of simple cycle gas units, two units and a combined unit.”[/rtl]
[rtl]The Prime Minister launched "the executive works for two solar power generation projects with a total capacity of 800 megawatts, the first is the Maysaloun solar power plant project with a capacity of 500 megawatts, and the other is the Ur solar power project with a capacity of 300 megawatts."[/rtl]
[rtl]He stressed: "Had it not been for the diligent follow-up by the responsible cadres, we would not have been able to complete these projects in various governorates," noting that "the electricity problem is not limited to generation, but is also a distribution and transmission problem."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the future plans include 1260 megawatts of electrical energy for Dhi Qar Governorate within the new economic model, stating: "We distributed the projects to the other governorates, according to the fuel used, and according to the bottlenecks and gap in production and the availability of water for the stations."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Prime Minister explained that "this government has no stalled projects, and all previous stalled projects are being addressed today, and the Cabinet's decisions are following up on ending this file."[/rtl]
