Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, stressed the importance of following up on the collection of electricity consumption fees from investment complexes.
The ministry stated in a statement received by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "Minister of Electricity Ziad Ali Fadel held a meeting with the ministerial team in charge of smart transformation projects in the electricity grid, to discuss mechanisms for improving the collection of electricity consumption fees and plans for the transition to the smart grid."
The statement added that "during the meeting, the steps to move towards the smart grid were discussed and the areas that will be included in the system in the first phase of the project were determined."
The Minister of Electricity was briefed on the mechanisms followed in collecting taxes, the obstacles facing them, and the proposed plans to improve collection efficiency, stressing the importance of following up on the collection of electricity consumption fees from investment complexes.
He stressed that "providing stable electricity service to citizens must be accompanied by effective collection of consumption fees, to ensure the continuity and development of the network."
The Minister of Electricity pointed out "the importance of smart transformation," indicating that "implementing the smart grid system will contribute to improving the management of the electricity grid and reducing waste, which will positively reflect on the quality of service provided to citizens."
