The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs revealed, on Wednesday, the number of national card issuers within the Iraq My Identity campaign.
The ministry stated in a brief statement, which was reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the number of issuers of the free unified national card reached more than 220 thousand beneficiaries included in the free (Iraq is my identity) campaign launched by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani under the supervision of the government communication team."
At the beginning of last March, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi announced the launch of the “Iraq is My Identity” service to issue unified national cards free of charge to those covered by the social protection system, in coordination with the electronic communication team in the Prime Minister’s Office.
The head of the Social Protection Authority, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, said in a statement, "The service includes issuing national cards for beneficiaries of the social protection salary and their children free of charge for those who have not previously issued a national card," noting that "the names will be announced in batches."
