“Lack of liquidity”... Revealing the reasons for the delay in releasing the Ministry of Health’s allocations!

The Parliament's Finance Committee revealed the reasons for the delay in releasing the financial allocations allocated to the Ministry of Health and its departments in the governorates, which raised many questions about the potential impacts on health services.
With the increasing need to enhance medical capabilities and support hospitals and health centers, this delay has created an additional challenge to providing the necessary care to citizens.
Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mohammed Nouri, said, “The lack of financial liquidity has delayed the release of the Ministry of Health’s allocations,” stressing that “the coming days will witness the release of all financial allocations.”
He added, "The Ministry of Health is one of the important ministries, and it is in direct contact with the citizen."
He pointed out that "the Finance Committee discussed with the Ministry of Finance the financial allocations for the Ministry of Health and health institutions in all governorates."
Nouri pointed out that "the Ministry of Finance promised to release all financial allocations soon in the coming days."
Earlier, the representative of Najaf Governorate, Hadi Al-Salami, filed a complaint against the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, due to the delay in releasing the allocations for health institutions and departments.
Al-Salami said, "For 3 months, the Ministry of Finance has not funded health institutions in Najaf Governorate," indicating that "this is a very serious issue that affects the lives of citizens."
He added that "health institutions in the governorate suffer from a lack of funding and that most health institutions purchase medicines through debts," noting that "there is a severe shortage of medicines, and this threatens the lives of citizens."
He pointed out that "the House of Representatives voted on Budget Law No. 13 of 2023, which includes financial allocations for health institutions in the governorates in general, stressing that Najaf Governorate has a cancer center that receives all patients in the Middle Euphrates governorates, as well as the open heart center, so cutting off funding for health centers in Najaf is a danger that threatens humanity."
He continued, "We took the necessary measures, and we filed a complaint against the Minister of Finance, due to the failure to implement the law based on Article 329 of the Iraqi Penal Code."
