[rtl]Dubai / Nina / The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme announced the organization of the ninth edition of the "Knowledge Summit 2024" on November 18 and 19, under the theme "Future Skills and the Artificial Intelligence Economy" at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The summit is an annual global platform that brings together thought leaders, experts, decision-makers and innovators from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the fields of knowledge and future skills, and ways to enhance international understanding and exchange ideas on mechanisms for building a sustainable knowledge-based economy.
The summit is expected to attract nearly 500 participants, including ministers, senior officials and decision-makers representing many vital sectors, including education, digital services and communications.
The summit agenda includes the launch of the “Global Knowledge Index” for 2024, which has been able to consolidate its role over the past years as a qualitative tributary to countries’ development policies and visions, by shedding light on strengths and areas of possible improvement in various knowledge sectors, such as education, research and development, innovation, technology, and the knowledge-based economy, making it a comprehensive tool for guiding future strategies to achieve sustainable development.
The summit’s activities include the “Third UNESCO World Conference on Open Educational Resources”, which is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for the first time in the Arab region.
Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, said: “Year after year, the Knowledge Summit consolidates Dubai’s position as a global hub for knowledge and innovation, providing a wide range of interactive spaces for exchanging visions, experiences and best practices to enable societies to transform into knowledge-based economies, thus contributing to improving the quality of life and shaping a sustainable future that relies on innovation and advanced technology as a path to growth and prosperity.”
The summit will also include a number of discussion sessions presented by the educational platform “Coursera”, which focus on future skills and artificial intelligence. / End
