    Information/Baghdad...
Independent MP Yasser Al-Husseini confirmed on Tuesday that political gains and interests were behind the political parties’ ignoring of the corruption file in the General Ports Company.
Al-Hussaini told Al-Maalouma, "The Director General of Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, is accused of corruption during his time in power, as leaving him in office makes the responsibility fall on the political party supporting him, the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis, and the Prime Minister."
He added that "the minister, in addition to the prime minister, have combined their efforts to hold on to the aforementioned person accused of corruption, in the belief that there is no corruption in this file, while in reality they are certain that there is major corruption in the aforementioned institution."
He pointed out that "political gains were behind the blindness of many political parties and their ignoring of corruption files, one of which is the corruption file in the General Ports Company led by Farhan Al-Fartousi." End 25N
