Parliamentary Culture Committee votes on draft law on the right to access information: It conforms to international conventions

The Parliamentary Committee on Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media decided to submit the draft laws on developing the banks of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers for the first reading and protecting cultural diversity, and to complete the law on the right to access information.
A statement by the House of Representatives stated that “the chairman (age) of the committee and the members confirmed during the committee’s regular meeting held in the parliament building today, Monday, that the committee voted unanimously on the articles of the draft law on the right to access information to submit it to the presidency of the council in order to include it on the agenda.”
The committee noted, according to the statement, that it “held many workshops and hearings in cooperation with many parties, and reached the final version that matured the law in a manner consistent with the requirements of the stage and international and UN charters.”
The committee indicated that it is "in the process of discussing other laws to pass them during the current parliamentary session."
