[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Culture, Tourism, Antiquities and Media Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed its intention to legislate the Right to Access Information Law, in accordance with international conventions, the principles of the United Nations and the Iraqi Constitution.
The head of the committee (age) said in a speech during the workshop on the law held by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Iraq Office on July 1 and 2 in the city of Sulaymaniyah with the participation of the Integrity and Legality Committees in Parliament: "The committee has intensified its work through hearings and workshops to mature the law on the right to access information and legislate it in the Council of Representatives, in accordance with international conventions, the principles of the United Nations and the Iraqi Constitution.
He added: "The right to access information is one of the basic rights of the individual and an aspect of democracy, and its importance comes in supporting transparency away from bureaucracy and other administrative complexities present in most state departments."
The committee confirmed its determination to legislate a law that is consistent with international conventions, the principles of the United Nations and the Iraqi Constitution, to reach results that satisfy everyone and allow media professionals, citizens and civil society organizations to see everything that is happening through the implementation of the instructions of this law, noting that it has discussed all the comments and suggestions received from those interested and specialized in this field. / End9[/rtl]
