    While the media and social networking sites are buzzing with an audio leak attributed to the Director General of the Tax Authority, Ali Allawi, in which he talks about manipulating tax rates in favor of a company, the first generation in the government is directing an immediate investigation into the veracity of these leaks.[/size]

    [size=45]In the leaked audio recording attributed to the Director General of the Tax Authority, while he is talking about manipulating tax rates in favor of one of the companies, Ali Waad Allawi says, addressing a person called “Abu Fahd”: “The first transaction was completed today in order to enter the tenders, and tomorrow we will give them the certificate of good conduct,” asking the person addressed (Abu Fahd) not to send his private lawyer because the latter is a chatterbox and “all eyes are on us.”[/size]
    [size=45]In the alleged audio leak, Allawi talks about money estimated at between 89 million dinars and seven billion dinars being paid in bribes to manipulate tax rates in favor of a company.[/size]
    [size=45]Earlier today, Monday (October 28, 2024), Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed the Integrity Commission to open an urgent investigation into the audio leak attributed to the Director of Taxes.[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", that "Al-Sudani directed the Integrity Commission to open an urgent investigation into the audio leak attributed to the Director General of the General Tax Authority."[/size]
    [size=45]He added that "the directive also included providing results quickly, emphasizing the fight against corruption, which is one of the most important priorities of the government program."[/size]
    [size=45]Minister of Finance Taif Sami also ordered the formation of an urgent investigative committee to investigate the audio leak attributed to the Director of the Tax Authority.[/size]
    [size=45]Social media sites circulated an audio leak of the Director General of Taxes, Ali Allawi, talking about manipulating tax rates in favor of a company.[/size]
