MP Mukhtar al-Moussawi confirmed on Wednesday that there are indications that Thursday's session will be decisive in choosing the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Moussawi explained in an interview with Al-Maalouma that there is a political consensus looming on the horizon regarding the desire of most political forces, including the Coordination Framework, for the next Thursday session to be decisive in choosing a Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Al-Moussawi added that most of the differences between the Sunni forces have been resolved, which led to significant progress in the talks. He pointed out that the Coordination Framework supports the option of deciding on a candidate for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives in Thursday's session.
He stressed that today will witness discussions and meetings between the Sunni forces, which will contribute to pushing towards consensus to attend Thursday's session and proceed with voting on a candidate to choose a Speaker of the House of Representatives.
It is noteworthy that the Coordination Framework called two days ago, following an expanded meeting, to hold a session on Thursday in order to choose the Speaker of the House of Representatives, a position that has been delayed for more than 11 months due to differences between Sunni forces.
