The Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Representatives announced that the file of appointing about 80 ambassadors is close to being resolved. The Vice Chairman of the Committee, Jabbar Al-Kanani, told Al-Sabah: "The broad outlines for appointing about 80 ambassadors for Iraq in several countries around the world are in the final drafting stage." He added that "the committee formed under the chairmanship of Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to appoint ambassadors continues its work to select the ambassadors who will be appointed to our embassies," noting that "it will hold its fourth meeting in the coming days to resolve the issue and refer the candidates to the relevant appointment authorities." Al-Kanani stressed that "the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has achieved positive steps in establishing relations based on economic partnerships and diverse investments within the plan of the government program with several countries that enjoy advanced economies and industries that benefit Iraq and all countries of the region."
