[rtl]Basra / NINA / Today, Wednesday, the sessions of the Ninth International Scientific Conference, held by the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra, kicked off in Basra Governorate under the slogan (Veterinary Medicine.. A Safety Valve for Food Safety and Economic Development), in the presence of the President of the University of Basra, Muhannad Jawad Kazim, and a number of deans of the college in Iraqi universities, with the participation of a number of researchers and professors from Iraq, Arabs and foreigners. It will continue for two days from November 6-7.
The President of the University delivered a speech in which he stressed that the University of Basra is hosting the Ninth International Conference of the College of Veterinary Medicine today, as a continuation of the distinguished scientific journey, approach and continuous giving with the technological progress and development witnessed by the world.
He added that the holding of this conference, in which an elite group of professors and researchers from Iraq, Arabs and foreign countries are participating, is the result of facing challenges towards creativity, progress and scientific advancement.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jalal Yassin Mustafa, said that since the establishment of the college in 1993, it aims to enrich students with theoretical, scientific and clinical information and experiences in the field of veterinary medicine and to include all veterinary and scientific specializations, bringing the number of its branches to eight.
He added, "The conference will address, over two days and in two morning and evening sessions, 75 scientific research papers out of 100 presented to the committee, in several axes, including the basic sciences axis, the veterinary sciences axis and the clinical sciences axis, with the participation of researchers and professors from universities and research centers in Iraq, as well as researchers from Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Syria.
The first scientific session began with a lecture by Dr. Kamal Al-Din Al-Saad entitled (Monkeypox Ampox.. Prevention and Public Health).
On the sidelines of the conference, the veterinary medicine exhibition was opened with the participation of 14 pharmaceutical companies in Iraq, in which various medicines for poultry and birds, food and medicines for small animals, and medical devices and supplies were displayed.
At the end of the first scientific session, a number of professors and researchers participating in the conference were honored." End
