The Ministry of Defense, discussed on Wednesday re [Iraqi flag service which conscription and mandatory service with the opening of training centers for the rehabilitation of young people covered.
According to a ministry statement received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it, "Wednesday morning held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense Defense Council session, chaired by Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi, the Board discussed during its meeting of military service and the possibility of the ministry to re-work this service, by opening training centers for the rehabilitation of Iraqi youth to perform military service and to provide the necessary supplies to these centers of military facilities and equipment, arming and training ".
The statement added: "The Council also discussed what this service from the positive effects on Iraqi society being entrenched in the minds of the youth patriotism and contribute to the preservation of the social fabric and in the construction and stability of the country."
The announcement by the Ministry of Defence for the possibility of a compulsory military service with the continuing political dispute over the project of the National Guard, where he formed the law of the three presidencies in the last month of the Commission to pass important laws, including the disputed National Guard.
The government withdrew the bill last October from the parliament for the purpose of amendment.
The differences are concentrated in the authority of these forces, where the National Alliance wants to be linked to the general commander of the armed forces and form of the children of all the provinces, while the Union of Forces and the Kurds want to be related to local governments for the provinces, and that is formed from the province itself.
