    The General Company for Textile and leather industries, Saturday, welcomed the Cabinet's decision to impose additional duty on imported products, and complained of the reluctance of the official bodies for the national product, and with the exception of the Iraqi Federation of Industries that the decision constitutes a "strong push" to the industrial sector, predicted the success of the sector public and private coverage in the local market needs and compete with the importer.
    The Director of Relations and Media at the State Company for Textile Industries and the skin of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, Ahmad Khalaf, said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The Cabinet's decision to impose additional duty on the cortex and textile products imported positive step to support the national product," returned to " a decision to protect the national product styles. "

"
    For his part, head of the Iraqi Federation of Industries Ali Sabih al-Saadi said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The Cabinet decision body of the demand of Iraqi Industrialists, who have long called for him 12 years ago," returned that "the decision is a strong push to support local industries, both in the government sector your mother. "
    He said al-Saadi, the "open door import unsanctioned during the years after 2003, significant damage to the national production and the Iraqi economy," expected to "General Company for Textile Industries and the skin and the private sector to cover the local market needs and compete with imported able within six months to a year ".
    The Council of Ministers approved during its meeting, which was held last Tuesday (the 29th of March current 2016), the recommendations of the competent authority at the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, and the imposition of additional duty rate of 50 percent, of the imported product value to Iraq from all origins countries, for four Years.
    It is noteworthy that the Presidency of the Council of Representatives member Hamoudi, welcomed, on Wednesday, (the thirtieth of March 2016), the government's decision to impose tariffs on imports of leather products and textile, while called to take further decisions held accountable stands, "a stumbling block" to the development of the national economy , he stressed the importance of resolute imposition of laws that limit the external import.
