    The chairman of the Union of Peasants Hassan Nassif al-Tamimi, Thursday, that the dues of farmers of wheat and barley is up to 3 trillion dinars, stressing that he will resort to sit-ins and demanding a change in the finance minister in the event of non-payment of these receivables.

    Tamimi said in a statement seen by agency Aqstadna news, "The Union of farm associations came out today demonstrations in 13 Iraqi provinces, demanding the payment of financial dues of wheat, barley and rice, as well as the applicability of the local protection product," adding that "this financial dues are up to 3 trillion dinars for the years 2014, 2015 and 2016 ".


    Tamimi said that "this event is the uprising of the hungry who are demanding Belkmp live their own," adding that "the Union called for the formation of a supreme committee to investigate about reduced Iraq's production of wheat, which declined during the current year up to 1.5 million tons, which is a dangerous phenomenon pay peasants to refrain the cultivation of wheat for the coming seasons. "

    The Al-Tamimi said "all options we have open and we will go to the Ministry of Finance and we will demand to exempt its minister from office in the event of non-payment of dues within seven days, and we'll go to parliament to assume its responsibilities and to defend the people and important segment," noting that "the fight against the peasants in this form is a war crime, and therefore the finance minister not to underestimate the minds of the peasants because they are simple people produce bread. "

    Several hundred peasants in most Iraqi provinces on Thursday to demand overdue financial entitlements for wheat and barley crops during the past two years.
