[rtl]"Animal diseases can cause billions of dollars in losses and restrict economic growth as well as risks to human health," FAO said on Tuesday .[/rtl]
[rtl]The H5N1 epidemic, which erupted in the mid-2000s, for example caused economic losses of $ 30 billion worldwide, and years later caused the H1N1 virus to lose $ 55 billion, it said in a statement on its Web site .[/rtl]
[rtl]She stressed that cattle are the main capitalist resource for millions of the world's poorest people and the loss of these livestock may deprive them of self-reliance and lead them to destitution.[/rtl]
