    [ltr]A top aide to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Singapore last night in the latest sign that the summit meeting with US President Donald Trump is moving forward, the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) reported on Tuesday.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Kim Chang-sun, Kim's office manager, actually arrived in Singapore via Beijing last night, the report said.According to Reuters.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The report said a team of US officials including Joe Hajin, deputy chief of staff of the White House operations, left the US air base Yokota in Japan for Singapore on Monday.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The White House said a "reconnaissance" team had traveled to Singapore to meet the North Koreans.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Plans for the historic summit, tentatively scheduled for June 12, are reported to be moving forward after Trump canceled it last week. A day later Trump said he had reconsidered and officials from the two countries were meeting to elaborate details.[/ltr]
    [ltr]In a wave of diplomatic activity over the weekend, North Korean leaders Kim Jong-un and South Korean Mon Jijan held a surprise meeting on Saturday in the village of Panmunjom in which they agreed that the North-US summit should be held.[/ltr]
    [ltr]On Monday, Moon said more pre-arranged talks could be held between the two Koreas during the run-up to the North Korean summit.[/ltr]
    [ltr]The US State Department said on Sunday that US and North Korean officials had met in Panmunjom[/ltr]
