The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced on Sunday that nine of its public companies have achieved an increase in revenues during the first quarter of 2018.
The Director General of the Planning Department at the ministry's center, Mohammed Ali Al-Hiti said in a statement that the efforts of the Ministry to promote the reality of its public companies through the implementation of its plan to develop the technical and productive reality of these companies and the opening of new production lines and the rehabilitation of lines and factories has resulted in the achievement of nine of the A rise in revenues offset by a reduction in losses during the first quarter of 2018 compared to what was achieved during the same period of 2017.
"The nine companies are the General Company for Copper and Mechanical Industries, the General Company for Iron and Steel, the General Company for the Automobile Industry and Equipment, the General Company for Hydraulic Industries, the General Company for Engineering Inspection and Qualification, the General Company for Mining Industries, the Public Company for Telecommunication Equipment, the General Company for Food Products, ).
He pointed out that "the increase in revenues was the result of increased sales resulting from increased production and service activity of companies and coordination with ministries as well as obtaining a number of decisions in support of the national industry of the Council of Ministers or the Committee on Economic Affairs."
He pointed out that "other companies have also been able to achieve high percentages of its production plan during the same period of this year, which is (the General Company for Iraqi Cement and Ibn Majid public company and the public company of sulfur Mashraq)."
