A local official in the Anbar provincial council on Friday revealed the intention of US forces to set up military bases in the western regions of the province.
"US forces are planning to establish a military base in nearby areas close to the Iraqi-Syrian border, west of Anbar, for unclear motives," the source said in a statement.
"US forces are moving near the Iraqi-Syrian border and have military bases in various parts of the western Anbar desert," he said. "These forces are aiming to build a military base equipped with advanced military landing."
He pointed out that "US forces are present at the train station east of the Qaim border with Syria, west of Anbar, as well as its presence along the border with Syria." Ending 12 /
