California fire authorities said 56 people had died so far in the Camp Fire fire in Biot province, while two others were killed in the firefight in the Los Angeles and Fonterra counties.15 November, 2018

Officials confirmed that about 40 percent of the Campfire fire, which came to about 140,000 hectares, and 57 percent of the second fire, which broke out in an area of about 98,000 hectares, were contained.
Weather conditions on Thursday helped firefighters to delay the arrival of flames into peaceful areas.
The fires have largely destroyed the town of Paradise, about 280 km north of San Francisco.
The two major fires destroyed more than 10,000 commercial and residential buildings.
"The place looks like a battlefield," California Gov. Jerry Brown, who toured it, Interior Minister Ryan Zincki and other officials in the disaster areas said on Wednesday.
