The parliamentary finance committee confirmed on Thursday that the ministries of interior and defense receive 24% of the budget, indicating that most of the allocated money goes as salaries to officers, associates and employees in the two ministries in addition to the armament contracts.
Committee member Abdul Hadi Mohan al-Saadawi said in a statement to Al-Maaloumah that "huge sums are allocated to the security services and to the Ministries of Interior and Defense, which contain large numbers of associates, where this money goes to the employees and employees of the ministries."
He added that "the armament, equipment, fuel and equipment all require large funds, pay the government to make the budget of the ministries of security higher than others and make them ranked first," noting that "the proportion of 24% of the budget has been allocated to the ministries of internal security and defense, where gave the budget a large space for ministries, There are significant allocations for previous armament contracts, in addition to the allocation of large funds for the new armament contracts. "
Al-Saadawi pointed out that "Iraq has more than a source of armament as it imports arms from Russia, South Korea and America, and the biggest contract since 2012 is the F16 aircraft, which must be handed over to Iraq in full, but because of political differences has been disabled this deal."
