Baghdad - The Iraqi Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday an agreement between Baghdad and Doha to establish an economic forum for Qatari businessmen in Iraq and start a new page of bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, cultural, investment and scientific fields. .
"The meetings of the Iraqi-Qatari Joint Committee and the participation of ministries, bodies and institutions in both countries were launched today in Doha as part of a joint agreement to develop relations and activate them in all fields," the ministry's media said in a statement.
"The meetings of the committee again give an impression of the desire of the two countries to develop their relations in all fields, and the Iraqi government is very keen to start a new page of bilateral cooperation and increase the volume of trade," Trade Minister Mohammad Hashim al-Ani said.
He pointed to the possibility of "establishing a large economic forum for businessmen of the two countries in Baghdad, to establish real partnerships and to start these relations to advanced levels through cooperation between businessmen in both countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of investment, industry, youth, sports and culture, "Adding that Iraq" hopes that the meetings of the joint committee in Doha step in the right direction of new tracks that elevate relations between the two countries to an advanced level. "
