The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, that the government is determined to provide facilities for investments in Iraq to promote the economic reality and help in the achievement of employment opportunities and the elimination of unemployment in the country.
"Saleh received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad on Tuesday evening a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce, which included a number of businessmen and heads of American companies with multiple investment specialties," a presidential statement said.
The statement added that "during the meeting reviewed the strong relations between Iraq and the United States of America and prospects for their support and development in various fields, especially in the areas of economic partnership and ways to improve the level of trade exchange between the two countries."
Saleh said, "There are a lot of investment opportunities in Iraq in various sectors, including health, telecommunications, agriculture and others," noting "welcome Iraq to benefit from the experience of US companies large and long in those areas."
For his part, the Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce that his country looks at many opportunities in Iraq through which to provide employment opportunities for Iraqis to sustain and grow Iraq's reconstruction and diversity in all areas.
He stressed the United States' keenness to strengthen cooperation with Iraq in a way that reflects the privacy and strategy of the relationship with him, especially in the areas of economic cooperation, trade and investment.
